Eros Data Center: Earthshots
- from the US Geological Service. A collection of satellite images showing
how the environment has changed over the past 20 years. You can select locations
from a world map or from a list of links. Each location has an accompanying
description and an explanation of the changes which can be seen from the images.

once again drawing heavily on the USA. Make sure you visit the Map Room which
has very good educational information on:

Projections Overview - different site from the above, has masses of information

Map Quest - a great site which
allows you to register (free) and customise maps from their interactive atlas.
Claims to have worldwide coverage but the greatest detail is only available
for US maps. Looks like it has tremendous potential for geographers, give
