Sea Surface Temperature Satellite Images - from the University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography. The images available clearly show the Gulf Stream as it heads up the Eastern North American coast line and then out into the Atlantic Ocean. What is impressive about this site is the fact that they have taken the trouble to put together a classroom lesson plan to help interpret the images - what the different colours mean and how to tell which areas represent sea surface temperature and which represent cloud cover. An excellent resource. (3/12/98)
