Links to International Media

There are a large number of online TV news channels, newspapers and magazines to choose from. I've selected those quality sites which from my experience often carry news of geographical/environmental interest.

Atlas Travel and Geography Magazine
BBC Online - includes coverage of TV, radio and the education section of the BBC. (20/4/97)
CNN Interactive - US news dominates as you would expect but there is quite good coverage of world news as well. (20/4/97)
Geographical - the RGS(IBG) magazine is now online, looks good as well. Has links to current news of interest to geographers (16/7/00)
Mercator's World Online - something for all the map enthusiasts out there. You can access some articles from current and past issues of the magazine. There are also links to other (map) related sites. (2/12/96)
National Geographic Online - a very professional and well put together site. Definitely worth a visit, especially to the cartographic division which is making many maps available for use. You can also send postcards from this site, something that could make a really useful addition to a class project. (30/11/96)
Paperboy - will help you find newspapers and non-newspaper sources of information the world over.
The Economist
The Electronic Telegraph
The Guardian
The New York Times
The San Francisco Chronicle
The Times and Sunday Times
The Times Educational Supplement
The Ultimate News Links Page - This is a really excellent site, with links to 4,000 newspapers around the world, and its very easy to search for newspapers by continent and country. (21/12/97)
The Washington Post
