A page dedicated to Jacob Robert Miller

Marci Linn sent Jacobs story to Left Heart Matters.

Hello, my name is Marci Linn. Jacob Robert Miller, is my son and he is five and a half years old. Jacob has HLHS-and he has had all three surgeries and is doing very very well!

Jacob is in kindergarten and he loves it, he also loves riding his bike and taking his dogs for walks. Everyone that meets Jacob can not believe that he has had three open-heart surgeries. Jacob was born on July 18, 1992 and was diagnosed as a perfectly healthy baby boy. I took him home when he was two days old, and the doctors and nurses said he was fine although he wouldn't hardly eat. Jacob was at home for a week when he had heart failure, he was nine days old. Jacob went to three different hospitals before arriving at University of Michigan Medical Center, Mott Childrens Hospital. He had his first surgery Norwood at seventeen days old. Following this surgery he had the Glenn Shunt on January 19,1993 the day after he turned six months old. Finally the Fenestrative Fontain on April 6, 1994. Although, Jacob did endure complications along with the three surgeries, he successfully had all three.

Jacob is doing just wonderful now and looks and acts just like any other child. I love him so very much and thank god every day that my beautiful boy is with me. He still visits his cardiologist and pediatrician regularly.

Thankyou, Marci Linn
