IT for All by the Sea
- in partnership with Europe
These pages provide news of developments in Brighton and Hove
to create an online environment which will benefit all citizens. They
are part of a proposed European experimental telematics project to
develop a local 'IT for All' campaign and a Digital City by the
Sea.
Computers, the Internet and other form of Information Technology
promise to bring major changes to entertainment, shopping, education
and business, as well as public participation in democracy and
political decision making.
Enthusiasts argue this Information Society will bring further
opportunities to improve our quality of life. However, over half the
UK population is uncertain or unconvinced*.
In December 1996 the UK Government launched a national campaign,
IT for All , to help
everyone better understand and use information and communications
technology.
These pages aim to support IT for All locally, promote a new Digital
City by the Sea, and share experience with other communities in
Europe and elseswhere through discussion
forums.

for All campaign Projects and events described here are for

stage.
