About 100,000 people in the U.K die each year because of smoking, approximatley nine out
of ten deaths from lung cancer and bronchitis are caused by smoking. The three main
diseases caused by smoking are coronary heart disease, destructive lung disease(including
bronchitis and emphysema), and lung cancer.Regular exposure to passive smoking can
increase a non-smokers risk of getting lung cancer by up to 30%. The amount of money you
pay for cigarettes each year could pay for a two week holiday abroad. |
