1955   Anaesthetic Ventilator

This machine is a positive pressure ventilator. It was used to blow air into a patients lungs at a regular rate. Positive pressure ventilators were used to give anaesthetics and grew out of work with the Iron lungs . Modern anaesthetics and intensive care are based on them.
