Mobile X-ray Machine 1940

X-ray machines were the earliest medical machine used in hospitals . They were very rare before the first world war. More doctors became familiar with them during the military service. By the 1930's you could get mobile (so very ill people didn't have to go to x-ray departments)machines. X-rays were being used to diagnose more and more complaints. By the 1940's London's St Bartholomew's hospital was taking about 500 per week. 3.jpg (18466 bytes)
