My colleagues and I found it useful to visit the Science Museum in advance to design work sheets and a student guide for the day. We only encountered problems when on the day of our visit - one of the exibits we had chosen as our focus has been 'closed for development'. We would now, (isn't hindsite a wonderful thing?) advise other teachers to phone the Science Museum to ensure that the exhibits they wish to visit are actually open to visitors.

 Enure that you check that the Launch Pad and other specilaist areas are available for the year group you intend to take. These tend to be 'blocked' for praticular ages groups on certain days.
