| The School Of Visual And Performing Arts, or SOVAPA as
it is known, is currently the largest of the six curriculum schools within
ECAT.
It is a thriving community of both full and part-time students with an age range from 16-90. The School is committed to high standards in delivery of the learning process. The courses at SOVAPA are successful, led by experienced degree qualified specialists and taught in a multitude of innovative and exciting ways. The full-time staff bring considerable experience to the planning and organisation of the courses, while the large number of visiting lecturers employed are practising artists, designers, photographers and performers. These people earn their living in the "real world" and thus bring a contribution of realism, enthusiasm and up-to-date information to the courses which they teach. |
This combination approach to teaching,
backed up by instructor technicians and knowledgeable school administrators,
make up an impressive team. It is one of the special benefits of joining
an art school for your studies. The aim of the team is to enable you to
reach your full potential.
You don't have to believe us! Because you will be joining a School recently inspected by the Further Education Funding Council and awarded a prestigious Grade 1. The Inspectors remarked on the "excellence of teaching and learning strategies" and in particular "the quality of the teaching of drawing across all areas".
