A course can also be undertaken as a rich experience in creative work for its own sake still gaining a BTEC National Qualification.
All our courses are validated by the national awarding body BTEC/Ed Excel.
SURPRISING BUT TRUE. It is possible to join any of these courses without having gained either GCSE or A level in Art! A good portfolio of work, especially that done under your own steam together with enthusiasm and determination, would make it possible for us to place you on an appropriate course; so don't be put off by disappointing results. Remember, Art and Design is something you will be doing for the rest of your life. There's plenty of time to get better if you have the will, and with our help you may surprise yourself!
There are opportunities for field trips and all courses regularly visit current exhibitions or performances relevant to their specialism.
On the Performing Arts, Media and Pop courses you will have many opportunities to perform live and increasingly these events are at public venues and on local radio.
All our courses have the benefit of ECATís considerable programme of learning support, so things like dyslexia need not be a drawback.
The School operates a welfare support programme which can provide help to SOVAPA students who encounter financial hardship while on their course.
The School has a thriving Film Society in conjunction with the townís Curzon Cinema.
Our students undertake public commissions.
Our End of Year Diploma Exhibition at Eversley Court, coupled with performances at venues in town are becoming a feature in June for Eastbourne. All students, whether full or part-time, are involved in some way with the end result being stimulating to be part of and uplifting to see.
