Next to a particular weapons station, you may see a letter in parentheses. This letter refers to any pylon drag associated with carrying a load on that station. If a letter is not present, that station either: doesnt use a pylon, has a pylon of negligible drag, or always has the pylon fitted and the drag is always included in the aircraft's base configuration. An "A" pylon is 0.5 drag pts.; a "B" pylon is 1.0 drag pts., and a "C" pylon is 1.5 drag pts. "a," "b" and "c" pylons are identical, except that they can be jettisoned after the pylon store is dropped/jettisoned. (eg. F-104s liked to punch their wing pylons after they dropped the FTs) An asterisk following a pylon rating means that the pylon need not be fitted if an FT is carried on that station.
Remember that cruise speed is decreased by 0.5 for 1/2 config. aircraft, and by 1.0 for DT aircraft.
